In short
You don't need to sign up to play Wordiz. We don't ask for your real name, email, phone number or location. We don't track you across apps or websites and we don't sell your data. We only keep what the game needs to work, and you can delete your online account from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
Wordiz is provided by Insya Games (insya). Privacy and support contact: info@insya.net.
2. Information that stays on your device
Your username, avatar, language and appearance preferences, settings, statistics and saved matches are stored only on your device. Playing against the computer, local duels on one device, blitz and solo modes work without connecting to our server.
3. What our server keeps for online features
When you use online duels, the daily board ranking or the world ranking, a player record is created for you on the Wordiz server. It contains:
- Username and avatar: chosen by you; visible to other players in rankings and duels.
- Game information: your game language, rating, win/loss counts, your moves in duels, your daily board scores and the preset phrases you send in duels.
- Session key: a random key that links the app on your device to your player record. It is not the advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID).
- Notification token: if you allow notifications, your device's push token, used to tell you when it's your turn. You can turn notifications off in the app settings or in your operating system.
There is no free-text chat; other players only see your name, avatar, language, rating and moves.
4. Server and technical logs
Our server runs on DigitalOcean infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany. When the app or these web pages connect to it, the IP address, time, requested address and browser/app information are written to access logs for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for at most 14 days. Communication with the server is encrypted (HTTPS).
Our web pages use no cookies, analytics or tracking code.
5. Notifications
Turn notifications on iOS are delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). A notification only contains a short game message (e.g. "Your turn"). Daily reminders are scheduled on your device without our server.
6. Advertising
To keep Wordiz free we show ads through Google AdMob: rewarded ads you choose to watch for a hint or an extra move, and a limited number of interstitial ads. There are no banner ads.
- iOS: ads are not personalized and we do not ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency).
- Android: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form is shown; personalized ads are only used with your consent. You can change your choice in the settings.
AdMob may process information such as device information, IP address and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Details: Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
7. Purpose and sharing
We use this information only to run the game (matchmaking, duels, rankings, notifications), keep the service secure and prevent abuse. We don't sell it or share it for marketing. It is shared only with the service providers listed above (DigitalOcean, Apple, Google) for these purposes, and with authorities where required by law.
8. Retention and deletion
Your player record on the server is kept until you delete it. Use Settings → Online account → Delete my account to delete it at any time: your name, avatar, scores, daily board scores, session key and notification tokens are removed from the server immediately and permanently. Your opponents win your ongoing duels; moves in finished duels remain without your name. Games and records on your device stay there until you delete the app.
If you can't access the app, you can also request deletion by emailing info@insya.net with the subject "Wordiz data deletion". Details: Delete your data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR), you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Send your request to info@insya.net; we answer within the legal deadline.
10. Children
Wordiz is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect identity or contact information; we don't ask for it at all.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date is shown above. We announce important changes in the app or on this page.
